All your contraction tracking data is stored locally on your device using an encrypted SQLite database (SQLCipher). This includes:

Contraction start times and timestamps
Contraction durations
Frequency calculations
Your theme preference
Your language preference

This data:

✅ Never leaves your device (unless you manually export it)
✅ Is encrypted on your device
✅ Is automatically deleted if you uninstall the app
✅ Cannot be accessed by us or anyone else

Home Screen Widget

Our home screen widget reads data from your local device storage to display:

Current timer status
Recent contraction statistics
5-1-1 rule status

The widget does NOT:

Send data to the internet
Share data with other apps
Store additional copies of your data

Optional Anonymous Feedback

When You Choose to Send Feedback

If you voluntarily use our in-app feedback feature, we collect:

What we collect:

Your feedback message text
App version number
Device model (e.g., "Samsung Galaxy S23")
Android version (e.g., "Android 13")
Timestamp of feedback submission

What we do NOT collect:

Your name or contact information (unless you include it in your message)
Your contraction data
Your location
Any personally identifiable information

How we use feedback:

To improve the app based on your suggestions
To fix bugs you report

Sending feedback is 100% optional
You can use the entire app without ever sending feedback

Data Export Feature

The app allows you to export your contraction data as a CSV file. When you use this feature:

A CSV file is created on YOUR device
YOU control where to save or share this file
The file may contain sensitive health information
Sharing this file (e.g., via email) is YOUR choice and YOUR responsibility
We recommend only sharing with trusted healthcare providers

Permissions We Request

Storage Permission (Optional)

Why: To save exported CSV files to your device
When: Only when you choose to export data
Opt-out: You can decline and still use the app

Widget Permission (Optional)

Why: To display the home screen widget
When: Only when you add the widget to your home screen
Opt-out: You can use the app without the widget

We do NOT request: Location, Camera, Contacts, Phone, SMS, or Microphone permissions

Data Security

We take your data security seriously:

Supabase (Feedback Only)

We use Supabase only for:

Storing optional anonymous feedback
Responding to user messages

Children's Privacy

Contraction Timer is designed for adults (pregnant individuals and their birth partners). We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. The app is not intended for use by children.

International Users

Contraction Timer is available worldwide in 15 languages. Because all data is stored locally on your device:

Your data does NOT cross international borders
You are NOT subject to international data transfer regulations
Your data stays in YOUR country on YOUR device

Retained indefinitely on your device until you delete entries or uninstall the app
You can manually delete individual contractions anytime
You can reset all data via app settings
Automatically deleted when you uninstall the app

Feedback Data (On Our Servers)

Retained for up to 2 years for product improvement
Can be deleted upon request
Automatically anonymized (we don't know who sent it)

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy occasionally to reflect changes in our practices or regulations. When we make changes:

We'll update the "Last Updated" date at the top
For significant changes, we'll notify you via an in-app message
Continued use of the app means you accept the updated policy
